[origin: WO2019025665A1] The invention relates to a method for determining dimensional characteristics 4 of an item of eyewear 11, and corresponding item of eyewear 11 and production method. The invention is particularly applicable to the field of eyewear, in particular for fitting and producing spectacles for a given person. The method is implemented by information processing means, three-dimensional image capture means and a database 2 in which one or more dimensional characteristics 4 of at least one item of eyewear 1 are stored. According to the method: - a three-dimensional digital representation 9 of all or part of the head, or virtual head 9, of the given person is determined by the capture and processing means; - one or more morphological characteristics of the head of the given person are determined on the basis of said virtual head 9 by the processing means; - the database 2 is updated by the processing means so as to adapt the one or more dimensional characteristics 4, stored in the database 2, of the one or more items of eyewear 1 to said determined morphological characteristics, the morphological characteristics comprising the shape and/or the position and/or a dimension of at least one element of the head. The determination of these morphological characteristics comprises the automatic recognition of the element in the virtual head 9 by the processing means and the automatic determination of at least one noteworthy point of said element in a three-dimensional coordinate system in the virtual head 9 by the processing means.
