[origin: WO2019030031A1] The invention relates to an apparatus for driving a fastening element into a substrate, having a trigger switch that is actuated by a user of the apparatus and, when the trigger switch is actuated, generates a trigger signal, a motion sensor which, in the event of a predetermined movement of the apparatus by the user, generates a wake-up signal, and an electronic control device which, in an operating mode, is able to set the apparatus into a state ready for driving, in which a trigger signal from the trigger switch triggers an operation of driving a fastening element into a substrate, and which, in a standby mode, is able to receive a wake-up signal from the motion sensor and, upon receiving a wake-up signal, to switch from the standby mode into the operating mode.
