Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2019029982A1] The invention relates to a piston for a reciprocating-piston internal combustion engine, comprising a ring carrier (12) with an outer piston crown (16) and with an inner piston crown (18), and comprising a piston skirt (20) which extends from the inner piston crown (18) in an axial direction, wherein the piston skirt (20) has at least one at least partially arcuately formed guide surface (22), wherein the at least one guide surface (22) is, in the arcuately formed region, arranged so as to be spaced apart in relation to the ring carrier (12) which is adjacent in an axial direction, such that a gap (24) is formed between ring carrier (12) and guide surface (22), wherein the piston skirt (20) and the ring carrier (12) are connected to one another by means of at least one stiffening rib (32) which extends transversely across the inner piston crown (18).
