[origin: WO2019034286A1] The invention relates to a gear, to a machine for producing a gear, and to a method for producing the toothing of a gear. The gear has a face gear which covers a first radial spacing region, in particular with respect to the central axis and/or rotational axis of the gear. The gear is designed as a hub and/or has a centrally arranged recess, i.e. is designed to be hollow in particular, such that the gear can be plugged onto a shaft. The gear covers a first axial region in the first radial spacing region, and the gear covers a second axial region in the second radial spacing region, wherein the second radial spacing region is radially spaced from the first radial spacing region, and the second radial spacing region is arranged radially within the first radial spacing region. The second axial region surrounds the first axial region or overlaps at least with the first axial region, and the gear has a wall thickness and/or a radial thickness which decreases in the axial direction, thus as the distance to the face gear increases in particular, in particular in a smoothly and/or continuously differentiated manner as a function of the axial position, in the second radial spacing region, in particular at a hub neck of the gear.
