In order to further improve the safety of the coupling, the coupling (10) according to the invention is characterized in that the angle (gamma; alpha, beta) of the lowered shoulder (16) relative to the horizontal plane (20) decreases away from the shank (14).

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Kuppelstück (10) zum Verbinden zweier übereinander gestapelter Container miteinander, insbesondere an Bord von Schiffen, mit einem ersten Kupplungsvorsprung (11), welcher zum Eingriff und Vorverriegeln in einen Eckbeschlag eines ersten Containers ausgebildet ist, und einem zweiten Kupplungsvorsprung (12), welcher einen Schaft (14) und eine in Längsrichtung der Container gesehen seitlich an dem Schaft (14) angeordnete Verriegelungsnase (15) mit einer vom Schaft (14) weg abfallenden Schulter (16) aufweist. Um die Sicherheit von Kuppelstücken weiter zu verbessern, ist das erfindungsgemäße Kuppelstück (10) dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Winkel (γ; α, β) der abfallenden Schulter (16) zu einer Horizontalebene (20) vom Schaft (14) weg kleiner wird.
