The invention makes provision for the print carrier to be applied, by means of the device for applying print carriers, to a first side surface (23) of the pack (10), said first side surface being oriented counter to the conveying direction (44) of the packs (10) on the conveying means (32), such that a portion (54) of the print carrier projects laterally beyond the first side surface (23) of the pack (10), and that the projecting portion (54) can be folded, by means of a folding mechanism (55) of the device, against another, second side surface (14) of the pack (10), said second side surface being adjacent to the first side surface (23) of the pack (10).
