Abstract (en)
Athletic socks and associated methods of manufacturing are disclosed. An example athletic sock (100) includes a body defining a closed end (105) proximate a user's toes and an open end (107) that at least partially encircle the user's leg. The sock (100) includes an ankle portion (104) formed of a cut-resistant material that at least partially surrounds the ankle of the user. The sock (100) includes a leg portion (102) extending between the ankle portion (104) and the open end (107). The leg portion (102) defines a calf section (112) that surrounds at least a portion of the user's leg and a shin section (110) that accommodates a shin guard received by the athletic sock (100). The sock (100) includes a foot portion (106) extending between the closed end (105) and the ankle portion (104). The foot portion (106) defines a heel section (116) and toe sections (118, 120) that include tacky yarn knitted such that the same yarn is disposed on both an exterior (101) and interior (103) surface of the sock (100).
