[origin: WO2019063737A1] An aerosol-generating article (10) comprising an aerosol generating substrate (2), a hollow tubular support element (3), an aerosol-cooling element (104) and a filter segment (105). The hollow tubular support element (43) has an annular shaped peripheral region of material, which surrounds an opening (25). Portions of the hollow tubular support element (3) inwardly projects into the opening (25) to define internal projections (26). These projections (26) provide a support barrier for at least part of the aerosol-forming substrate (2).
