Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2019063088A1] A cutting drum for a borer-type continuous miner and in particular, although not exclusively, to a bottom cutting drum mountable immediately behind forwardmost primary cutting rotors. The cutting drum comprises a plurality of material transport blades extending lengthwise along the drum between the pick holders and positioned side-by-side in a circumferential direction around the drum to cover an outward facing drum face. The blades are effective to provide transport of cut material to minimise power consumption of the cutting head and accelerated wear of cutting picks.
