[origin: EP3691371A1] This application provides a data transmission method and a communications apparatus. The method includes: receiving uplink resource configuration information sent by a network device, where the uplink resource configuration information includes information about at least two uplink reference points, and one uplink reference point corresponds to one uplink carrier; and determining, based on the uplink resource configuration information, an uplink carrier on which an uplink transmission resource is located. According to the data transmission method provided in this application, when there are a plurality of available uplink carriers in a cell of the communications apparatus, the network device sends information about reference points of the plurality of uplink carriers to the communications apparatus, and the communications apparatus may determine, based on the information about the plurality of reference points, a carrier, in the plurality of uplink carriers, on which the uplink transmission resource used by the communications apparatus is located. In this way, the communications apparatus is saved from misunderstanding and conflicts during use of uplink resources on the plurality of uplink carriers, and transmission efficiency and quality are improved.
