An inhibiting unit (5, 6, 7, 8, 9) is provided which inhibits the rolling-up movement and/or an unrolling movement of the shutter curtain length (2). The finger guard device according to the invention allows the retraction force of the shutter curtain length to be adjusted, in particular in situ in the case of a pre-installed finger guard device.
