A press ring (82) provided for sliding, by means of the assembly apparatus (1), over the intermediate piece (81) with the effect of creating a pressure-tight and mechanically loadable press-fit connection between the connecting end (99) and the intermediate piece (81) is a further component of the fitting kit (8). The assembly apparatus (1) comprises a first apparatus half (11) and a substantially identical second apparatus half (12) which is complementary to the first, which each have a basically hemispherical form, are separated from one another when stored and which have coupling means (24, 44; 73) for detachable joining with the concave sides thereof directed towards one another to achieve the operating state.
