The bobbin holder (1) is pivotably arranged in a machine frame and can be led into a release position for a bobbin change. Furthermore, a traversing device (7) is provided for laying the fiber strand (15) on the bobbin (16), and an injector apparatus (17) is provided for cutting and suctioning the fiber strand (15) during a bobbin change. According to the invention, in order to cut and suction the fiber strand (15) during a bobbin change, the injector apparatus (17) is designed having a slot-shaped suction opening (17.2), which extends in the thread running direction of the fiber strand (15) running onto the bobbin (16). Thus, in particular rigid and flexurally stiff fiber strands also can be sucked in.
