[origin: WO2019081635A1] In order to effectively, inexpensively and easily remove mercury from gaseous effluents, the invention proposes a method for removal of mercury, wherein a reagent for capturing mercury (3), which is made up of a solution of a bicarbonate and a sulfide, is injected in liquid form into a gaseous stream (2) having a temperature greater than 140°C, preferably between 170ºC and 220ºC, so that dry grains, resulting from evaporation of the water of the solution followed by thermal decomposition of the bicarbonate of the solution into carbonate, have a large specific surface area on which the sulfide initially present in the solution is distributed in order to bond with and thus capture the mercury present in the gaseous stream.
