Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2019081469A1] A method for processing a flowable product (P) using a centrifuge, in particular a separator, comprising a vertical axis of rotation (D) having a rotatable centrifuge drum (1) in which a disc stack (11) is arranged, at least one product outlet (13) for discharging at least one liquid phase (LP) and at least one solids discharge opening (10) for discharging a solid phase (SP), characterized by the following steps: a) pretreating the flowable product (P) so that particles in said product are more strongly attracted by electrically charged components; a) feeding the flowable product (P) into the disc stack (11); b) generating an electric charge on the discs in the disc stack (11) and c) separating the charged particles out of the flowable product (P) within the disc stack (11) under the influence of the electrostatic attractive forces and a centrifugal field and a centrifuge.
