Zum Betrieb eines Kochfelds mit mehreren Kochstellen, für das eine maximale Leistungsaufnahme als Leistungsgrenze vorgesehen ist und maximal eine Leistung entsprechend dieser Leistungsgrenze auf mehrere Kochstellen aufgeteilt werden kann, ist für jede Kochstelle eine Anzeigevorrichtung vorgesehen, auf der eine aktuell eingestellte Leistungsstufe als Leistungsanzeige anzeigbar ist. Für jede Kochstelle wird an der zugehörigen Leistungsanzeige stets die eingestellte Leistung angezeigt und es wird stets die maximal verfügbare und wählbare Leistung angezeigt, bei deren Einstellung für diese Kochstelle die Leistungsgrenze noch stets eingehalten wird. Nach Einstellen einer möglichen Leistung für eine Kochstelle wird für jede Kochstelle angezeigt, welche Leistung für diese Kochstelle noch bis Erreichen der Leistungsgrenze maximal verfügbar ist. So ist die an jeder Kochstelle verfügbare Leistung sofort zu erkennen.
