[origin: WO2019086644A1] A method for depositing a decorative covering (3) by spraying onto a trim component (1) at the surface of which a first area (10) to be rendered free of decorative coating is defined, delimited by an edge according to a first given contour (11), which involves carrying out the following steps: − Step A: depositing, on said first area (10), a temporary masking element (2), the entire surface area of which lies within said first area (10), the part covered by the temporary masking element defining a second area (20) delimited by a second contour (21), − Step B: depositing one or more layers of decorative covering (3) on the entire surface area of the trim component (1), and allowing the decorative covering to cure for a predetermined period, − Step C: removing the temporary masking element (2) and, − Step D: using a pulsed laser, removing the layer of decorative covering (3) located between the second (21) and first (11) contours.
