[origin: WO2019091802A1] The invention relates to a device for supplying a steam consumer, comprising a steam consumer, a steam feed, which provides steam at a second pressure level and which can be connected to a fresh steam network, a condensate return line for conducting the condensate, means for evaporating the removed condensate, which means comprise at least one heat exchanger, and a feed-back line for feeding steam produced from the condensate back into the steam feed. The steam feed and the fresh steam network are decoupled. The device also comprises a thermocompressor, which is supplied with motive steam at a higher pressure level. The invention further relates to a method for recovering steam, comprising the following steps: a) drawing condensate from the steam consumer, b) compressing the condensate to a third pressure level, c) heating the condensate at the third pressure level in at least one heat exchanger, d) evaporating the condensate and producing steam at a second pressure level, e) feeding the produced steam into the steam feed, f) compressing flash steam from a further steam source by means of a thermocompressor to at least the target pressure for supplying the steam consumer, the motive steam of the thermocompressor having a pressure that lies above the second pressure level and in particular being drawn from the fresh steam network.
