Abstract (en)

A roller furler assembly (3) for furling or unfurling a sail comprises a driving unit (4) which is configured to be installed on a sailing yacht. The driving unit (4) comprises a deck passage (5) sized and arranged such that a furled sail which is stored under deck of the sailing yacht may be pulled through the deck passage (5) in order to be set. The roller furler assembly (3) further comprises an end piece configured to be connected to a stay and/or tack of the sail and further configured to be pulled together with the sail towards the deck passage (5). The deck passage (5) comprises a receiving portion (8) for receiving the end piece such that torque may be applied from the driving unit (4) to the end piece thereby rotating the end piece and furling the sail. The receiving portion (8) has guidance members (14). The end piece has alignment members. The guidance members (14) are configured such that upon receipt of the end piece in the receiving portion (8) by pulling the end piece towards the deck passage (5), the alignment members engage with the guidance members (14) thereby forming a torque transmitting connection between the driving unit (4) and the end piece.
