[origin: WO2019149430A1] The invention relates to a short-circuit ring (1) for a squirrel cage of an electric machine, wherein the short-circuit ring (1) has at least one recess, preferably multiple recesses, for receiving at least one cage bar (3), preferably multiple cage bars, wherein the short-circuit ring (1) is designed to accommodate one end of the cage bar (3). Adjacent to at least one recess, a well having a well contour (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) is formed at a front axial end (12) of the short-circuit ring (1). The invention also relates to a method for connecting a short-circuit ring (1) of this type to at least one cage bar (3), preferably multiple cage bars, for producing a squirrel cage.
