Abstract (en)
A smoking substitute system comprising a device and a method of operating the smoking substitute system is disclosed. The device comprises at least a controller configured to detect user interactions and compare with a predetermined unlocking pattern. Based on the comparison, the controller locks the device if there is a mis-match determined between the user interactions and the predetermined unlocking pattern. The controller also disables the user interface of the device for a predetermined time period when the number of such mis-match determinations exceed a predetermined count of mis-matches, thus preventing accidental heating of the device and from inadvertent use by a child.
