Abstract (en)
A smoking substitute system comprises a device (201) comprising a cap (210) movable between an engaged position to conceal a heating element (223) and a disengaged position to expose the heating element. A method of operating the device comprises enabling a power supply to the heating element when the cap is detected to be in the engaged position, and disabling said power supply when the cap is detected to be in the disengaged position.
