There is described an opening device (3, 3') configured to be applied to a package (1) containing a pourable product; the opening device (3, 3') comprises a cap (12) configured to close a passage (11) for the pourable product obtainable at an opening area of the package (1); the cap (12) being movable, in use, towards and away from the opening area to respectively close and open the passage (11); the opening device (3, 3') comprises a connection element (26, 26') fitted to the cap (12) and configured to be fitted to the package (1), thereby tethering the cap (12) to the package (1) and thereby defining a maximum distance the cap (12) can move, in use, away from the opening area.
