[origin: WO2019105737A1] The invention relates to a method (20) for determining a distance to an object, comprising the following steps: capturing at least two images (12a, 12b), a polarization filter (13) arranged in front of a camera being used for capturing at least a first of the at least two images (12b); determining the distance on the basis of a second of the at least two captured images (12b) by means of a machine learning system (11), the machine learning system (11) also using the first of the at least two captured images (12a) during the determination of the distance, in order to disregard a reflection in one of the at least two captured images (12a, 12b) in the determination of the distance. The invention further relates to a computer program and to a device for carrying out the method (20) and to a machine-readable storage element (16) on which the computer program is stored.
