Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2020200871A1] The invention relates to a laboratory centrifuge (1), which has a closure (5) for closing an opening (6) of the laboratory centrifuge (1), the laboratory centrifuge (1) having a state detection device (25), which is designed to detect a closed and/or locked, ready-for-operation state of the closure (5) and/or to detect closing and/or locking of the closure (5) and thus the emergence of the ready-for-operation state and, if the ready-for-operation state is detected and/or the emergence of the ready-for-operation state is detected, to enable operation of the laboratory centrifuge (1). The state detection device (25) is designed to detect the ready-for-operation state and/or the emergence thereof at a plurality of locations of the laboratory centrifuge (1) and to enable operation of the laboratory centrifuge (1) only if said device detects the start of the ready-for-operation state of the closure (5) and/or the emergence of the ready-for-operation state at the plurality of locations within a time interval of predefined length.
