[origin: WO2019110742A1] An emergency braking system (10) for an electrically driven conveyor vehicle (50), comprising: - a vehicle emergency braking part (20) which is designed for arranging in a fixed position on the conveyor vehicle (50), - a route emergency braking part (30) which is designed for arranging in a fixed position on a route (60) for the conveyor vehicle (50), - wherein the vehicle emergency braking part or the route emergency braking part (30) is designed to be activatable from a free state (FZ) into a braking state (BZ), wherein, in the braking state (BZ), the vehicle emergency braking part (20) interacts with the route emergency braking part (30) in such a manner that the conveyor vehicle (50) is braked by friction between the vehicle emergency braking part (20) and the route emergency braking part (30), and wherein, in the free state (FZ), there is no friction between the vehicle emergency braking part (20) and the route emergency braking part (30); and - an emergency control unit (40) which is operatively connected to the activatable emergency braking part (30) and is designed to detect an emergency situation and, when an emergency situation is detected, to activate the activatable emergency braking part (30) in such a manner that the latter takes up the braking state (BZ).
