Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Sicherungsgerät, welches sich durch eine besonders sichere Handhabung auszeichnet. Die Erfindung stellt ein Sicherungsgerät (2) bereit, umfassend eine Bremsvorrichtung (6) und eine Blockiervorrichtung (8), wobei die Blockiervorrichtung (8) ein bewegliches Seilaufnahmeelement (12, 14) umfasst, welches dafür eingerichtet ist, von einem daran aufgenommenem Seil (16) bewegt zu werden, wobei die Blockiervorrichtung (8) dafür eingerichtet ist, in einem Blockierzustand eine Bewegung des Seilaufnahmeelements (12) zu blockieren, wobei die Blockiervorrichtung (8) in einem Sicherungsfall in den Blockierzustand übergeht, wobei der Sicherungsfall vorliegt, wenn ein Bewegungsparameter der Bewegung des Seilaufnahmeelements (12, 14) aus einer Bewegungsparametermenge außerhalb eines dem jeweiligen Bewegungsparameter zugeordneten vorbestimmten Sicherheitsbereichs des Bewegungsparameters liegt.
