A packer machine (29) and a wrapping method to produce a rigid pack (1) of smoking articles having: a wrap (3) obtained by folding a wrapping sheet (21) around a group (14) of smoking articles, and an outer container (2) obtained by folding a blank (28) and a collar (17) around the wrap (3). There are: a forming conveyor (36), which moves a plurality of first pockets (35) along a forming path (P1); a hopper (33), which is arranged in front of the forming conveyor (36) and along the forming path (PI) and is provided with at least one output mouth (34), from which the group (14) of smoking articles can be pulled out;a wrapping conveyor (37), which is arranged downstream of the forming conveyor (36) and is designed to move the group (14) of smoking articles and the wrapping sheet (21) along a first straight and horizontal wrapping path (P2); a first wrapping drum (62), which is arranged downstream of the wrapping conveyor (37), supports at least one second pocket (63) designed to contain the wrap (3) and the collar (17), and is mounted so as to rotate around a first horizontal rotation axis (64), which is parallel to the first wrapping path (P2), in order to move the second pocket (63) along a second circular wrapping path (P4); a second wrapping drum (74), which is arranged downstream of the first wrapping drum (62), supports at least one third pocket (75) designed to contain the wrap (3), the collar (17) and the blank (28), and is mounted so as to rotate around a second horizontal rotation axis (76), which is parallel to the first rotation axis (64), in order to move the third pocket (75) along a third circular wrapping path (P5); and a transfer conveyor (60), which is interposed between the wrapping conveyor (37) and the first wrapping drum (62) and transfers the wrap (3) from the wrapping conveyor (37) to the first wrapping drum (62) along a transfer path (P3), which is perpendicular to the first wrapping path (P2) and perpendicular to the first rotation axis (64).
