[origin: WO2020216628A1] The present invention relates to a method for controlling a cleaning process in a vacuum cleaner, the vacuum cleaner comprising at least one filter which is cleaned regularly. The proposed method makes it possible in particular to clean the filter(s) as required and depending on the differential pressure, during which cleaning the ageing of the filter or the wear on the filter can be taken into account. In a second aspect, the invention relates to a vacuum cleaner by means of which the proposed control method can be carried out. For this purpose the vacuum cleaner can, in particular, comprise a filter cleaning unit.
