[origin: WO2019129624A1] The invention relates to a carbon brush and a method for producing a carbon brush for electrically contacting a contact structure which moves relative to the carbon brush, in particular of a commutator or slip ring of an electric machine. A brush body of the carbon brush is produced by pressing and temperature treating a material mixture, and the material mixture is formed by mixing a graphite powder with a resin and an additive, wherein the resin is pyrolyzed by the temperature treatment after the pressing process, and graphene in a proportion of 0.01 to < 5 wt.% of the material mixture is used as the additive.
