[origin: WO2020234329A1] The invention relates to a carrier gas nozzle (1) for the application of a protective gas (G) to a welding area (S), comprising a housing (2), a device (3) for securing to a welding torch (B), an inlet (4) for the protective gas (G), at least one gas distribution chamber (5) and a plurality of parallel gas channels (6) having openings (7), via which the protective gas (G) flows onto the welding area (B). In order to create a carrier gas nozzle (1) of this type, which provides an optimum protective effect in the welding area (S) and which can be produced as simply as possible, each gas channel (6) has a height (hK) corresponding to at least six times the hydraulic diameter (dh) of the gas channel (6).
