Die Erfindung betrifft eine Verdichtereinheit für ein Streckwerk einer Textilmaschine, zum Verdichten eines fertig verzogenen Faserverbandes (6), wobei die Verdichtereinheit (1) zumindest eine Faserverbandführung (3, 4) aufweist, und die Faserverbandführung (3, 4) eine Führungsfläche (11a, 11b; 13a, 13b) für den Faserverband (6) aufweist, in deren Längsrichtung der Faserverband (6) verlaufen kann, und eine an der Führungsfläche (11a, 11b; 13a, 13b) angeordnete Auflagefläche (15, 16) für die Auflage der Verdichtereinheit (1) auf einer Streckwerkswalze (2) vorgesehen ist, wobei die Auflagefläche (15, 16) der Faserverbandführung (3, 4) aus einem Kunststoff hergestellt ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Faserverbandführung (3, 4) an deren Auflagefläche (15, 16) entlang der Führungsfläche (11a, 11b; 13a, 13b) einen Verschleißrand (21) aufweist.
