Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2019145210A1] The invention relates to a method for estimating the rate of dilution of fuel in the oil of an internal combustion engine equipped with a combustion gas treatment device requiring regeneration phases by post-injection of fuel, during a step prior to the method, a plurality of fractions (F1, F2,... Fx) of the composition of said fuel is defined, each fraction (Fi) having a different density, and in that the method comprises, in a repeated manner for a series of instants (t, t+dt), an estimation of the rate of dilution (T) by adding the rate of dilution (T(t)) estimated at the preceding instant to a variation value of the rate of dilution (dT) calculated on the basis of an estimation of the variation of the rate of dilution (dTi), between two successive instants (t, t+dt), of each fraction (Fi) of the plurality of fractions (F1, F2,... Fx) of the composition of said fuel in the oil.
