Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2570361A] A device (13) for supporting a saxophone (30) on the body of a player, comprises a rod whose first end-piece features a detachable mechanical adapter for connection to the saxophone. The second end of the rod is connected to a plate via a ball joint or a universal joint. The mechanical adapter has an adjustment screw adaptor and a bumper pad, preferably made of felt for impact protection for mechanical parts of the saxophone. The mechanical adaptor arrangement may connect to the socket of the E flat key guard of a saxophone. The plate preferably has a support pad for contact with the body of a player which may consist of felt, rubber, silicone or a mixture thereof. The rod may be telescopically adjustable by means of inserting the rod into a tube.
