[origin: WO2019145118A1] The invention relates to an embossing plate for producing embossed structures in a valuable object, the valuable object consisting of a substrate of paper, paperboard or plastic or a mixture of paper, paperboard and plastic. The embossing plate consists of a metallic and/or electrically conductive material and has an outer side having the structures to be embossed, as elevations, and an inner side opposite the outer side. The invention further relates to methods for producing an embossing plate of this type. According to the invention, the embossing plate is bent in the shape of a cylinder segment. The inner side of the embossing plate has structures in the form of recesses, which are formed as a mirror image of the structures on the outer side of the embossing plate which are to be embossed. The dimensions of said recesses on the inner side of the embossing plate, i.e. the lateral dimensions or the depth or (absolute) value of the depth of said recesses, are smaller than the corresponding dimensions of the elevations on the outer side of the embossing plate, i.e. the lateral dimensions or height or (absolute) value of the height of said elevations.
