[origin: EP3748051A1] A pair of counter-rotating tearing rollers (18, 20) is mounted on a frame (22) which swings with an alternating motion about a first axis (PI), under the control of first motorized transmission means, with respect to a clamp (12) which retains a ribbon (F) of fibers, so as to move the tearing rollers (18, 20) closer to the clamp (12) in order to pinch a protruding head of the ribbon (F), and then move the tearing rollers (18, 20) away from the clamp (12) so as to tear a tuft of fibers from the ribbon (F). The motorized transmission means comprise a first connecting rod-crank mechanism (30), which is connected to the frame (22) by means of linkages (33) and is actuated by a motor (32) which is controlled electronically according to a predetermined mathematical function.
