[origin: CA3089434A1] The invention relates to a heat-sealable barrier paper comprising or consisting of a) a carrier substrate, having a front side and a rear side opposite the front side, b) optionally an intermediate layer arranged on the front side of the carrier substrate, comprising a bonding agent, c) a first barrier layer arranged on the front side of the carrier substrate or, insofar as there is an intermediate layer, on the intermediate layer, comprising a cross-linked polysaccharide, d) a second barrier layer arranged on the first barrier layer, consisting of or comprising i) an acrylate-copolymer and/or ii) a vegetable oil-based wax. The invention further relates to the use of a barrier paper for packaging products, to a method for heat sealing a barrier paper according to the invention and to a method for producing a barrier paper.
