[origin: WO2019162073A1] The invention relates to a safety helmet (1), with a removal unit (18), via which a first (15) and a second fastening element (16) - by means of which a protection unit (8; 10) and a cushioning unit (9; 11) are connected or can be connected in a head-receiving region (3) of the safety helmet - can be released from one another. In accordance with the invention the first (15) and the second fastening element (16) and consequently the protection unit (8; 10) and the cushioning unit (9; 11) can be released from one another by means of the removal unit (18) along a release direction (19) oriented perpendicular to a medial plug-in connection direction (17). The invention further relates to a method for using such a safety helmet (1).
