[origin: WO2019162821A1] A method for in vitro diagnosis and/or prognosis of a tumour disease or an acute inflammatory disease and the related kit are disclosed. The method of the invention is based on the quantitative determination of the nicotinic acid phosphoribosyltransferase enzyme (NAPRT) in a biological fluid sample from a subject suspected of being affected by a tumour disease or an acute inflammatory disease, wherein the level of said enzyme above a predetermined threshold is indicative of a tumour disease and/or an acute inflammatory disease. The biological fluid sample is blood, plasma or serum or cell culture supernatant.
