[origin: WO2020157079A1] The invention relates to nanoparticulate stoichiometrically doped or undoped silicon carbide SiC in the form of secondary particles that consist of agglomerates of SiC primary particles, the primary particles having a particle size in the range of 40 to 100 nm and the secondary particles having an average size of 1 to 10 µm. The invention further relates to an anode of a rechargeable lithium-ion battery containing the SiC according to the invention, and to a rechargeable lithium-ion battery comprising said anode.
