[origin: WO2019174905A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a washing machine, which washing machine comprises: an outer tub, which is arranged in a housing and in which a drum is rotatably mounted; a loading opening, which is arranged at the front of the housing and which can be closed by means of a door having a door inspection glass; a door sealing ring, which extends around the loading opening between the housing and the outer tub; and an open-loop and/or closed-loop control device, the method comprising the performance of a selected washing program, which comprises a rinsing phase and in which, after the rinsing phase, water is applied to the door inspection glass and the door sealing ring in order to rinse the door inspection glass and the door sealing ring, characterized by the following step: performing a spinning process after the rinsing phase and before the water is applied to the door inspection glass and the door sealing ring, with a maximum rotational speed depending on the selected washing program. The invention further relates to a corresponding washing machine.
