The at least one lateral suction opening (129) is dimensioned so as to be at least 1 mm in the thickness direction (D) and/or at least 10 mm in the transport direction (T), or at least one straight line (G) oriented parallel to the transverse direction (A) intersects the transport path provided for transporting sheets (02) as well as the at least one lateral suction opening (129).
