[origin: GB2572437A] Display apparatus comprises a display screen to display information, a memory to store information for display on the display screen, a motion detecting arrangement to detect motion of the display apparatus, and a processor programmed to control the display of the information on the display screen. In response to motion detected by the motion detecting arrangement, controlling the display screen to erase at least a part of the information displayed on the display screen. The motion detecting arrangement is configured to sense a plurality of motion types, and the processor is programmed to identify the sensed motion types and to selectively erase information displayed on the display screen in dependence upon the identified motion types. Motion types may include shaking, rotational or reciprocating motion or patterns of motion in multiple directions that is greater than a threshold. The information may be displayed in a plurality of regions and the displayed information in the displayed regions maybe deleted based on the identified motion types.
