The e-value (4) represents an identifier, a real asset or electronic currency, that is to say e-currency. The e-value (4) is preferably present as an e-value (4*) comprising a load token TL (41) and a spend token TS (42). As an alternative or in addition, the terminal (5) comprises a security element SEALS-SE (3), wherein the security element SEALS-SE (3) is suitable for storing and transmitting e-values with a binding transaction also using a device (2) without a security element SE and without an Internet connection at the time of the payment procedure. If the e-value (4, 4*) represents e-currency, the control unit (7) is not a server.
