[origin: WO2019197375A1] The invention relates to the field of installations in the basic materials industry, specifically alarm devices for such installations. The aim of the invention is to devise an alarm device and a method with which operating personnel of such installations can be made aware of critical states simply and reliably. This is achieved by an alarm device (1) for triggering a vibration alarm. The alarm device comprises a rigid first plate (5), which is suitable for storing objects, and at least one actuator (3) for setting the first plate (5) vibrating. A first add-on part (4) is used to place the first plate (5) at a predefined distance above a floor (10). A vibration damper (2) is respectively arranged between the first plate (5) and the first add-on part (4). This object is also achieved by a method which, in the event of critical states of the installation in the basic materials industry, activates an actuator (3) of the alarm device (1).
