[origin: WO2019201535A1] The invention relates to a milling pick, in particular a round-shank pick, having a pick head and a pick tip, consisting of a hard material, wherein the pick tip has a fastening region, in which it is joined to the pick head, wherein the pick tip has a concave region that extends in the direction of the longitudinal centre axis of the pick tip, and wherein the concave region has an elliptical contour. In order to achieve a better load capacity in such a milling pick, the invention provides that the ellipse that creates the elliptical contour is arranged such that the major half-axis of the ellipse and the longitudinal centre axis of the pick tip enclose an acute angle.
