[origin: EP3789390A1] The present invention relates to a set-up (10) and production method (100) developed for high quality and economical production of the electrolyte additive (salt) that will increase the performance and safety of lithium ion batteries used in portable electronic devices and electric vehicles. The objective of the present invention is to synthesize only anhydrous phase (LiB(C<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>, LiBOB) by enabling synthesis under protective atmosphere and in gas medium, and, unlike the syntheses carried out in open atmosphere, to prevent the formation of lithium bis(oxalato)borate hydrate (LiBOB.H<sub>2</sub>O) that is the monohydrate phase.
