[origin: WO2021018644A1] The invention relates to a device (10), more particularly a softforming device, for attaching edge bands (1) on the short side of a panel-shaped workpiece (2, 2') made of work or wood substitute, comprising a machine control system, an edge band magazine (20) for storing and/or feeding a plurality of edge bands (1) and at least two edge band application devices (50, 60). The edge band application devices (50, 60) are designed to activate a supplied edge band (1) by means of application of an adhesive or glue to the joint side or melting on the joint side and then to press same against the short side of the workpiece (2, 2'), more particularly by means of at least one pressure roller (51, 61). The device (10) is further equipped with a feed device (40), which is designed to feed an edge band (1) removed from the magazine (20) into an edge band application device (50, 60) specified by the machine control system. The feed device (40) comprises a branching means (41) and edge band guide paths (42, 43) arranged between said means and each edge band application device (50, 60). The branching means (41) is designed to guide an edge band (1) coming from the magazine (20) to an edge band guide path (42, 43) specified by the machine control system. The movement device (30) further provided is designed to move workpieces (2, 2') in at least one direction (X) relative to the edge band application devices (50, 60).
