[origin: WO2019219806A1] The invention relates to an incubator for incubating eggs, comprising: a container (10) having a container floor (16), container side walls (11, 12a, 12b, 13, 14) and a container ceiling (15) which enclose a container interior; multiple incubation levels (42a-e, 43a-e) situated in the container interior, each incubation level having egg-holding devices for holding a plurality of eggs; accommodation areas which are situated adjacent to the egg-holding devices and preferably at each incubation level; watering devices (48a-e) assigned to the accommodation areas, each incubation level being formed to allow a chick hatched from an egg in the egg-holding device access to an accommodation area, preferably to an accommodation area situated at the incubation level; and an air-conditioning unit, which is designed to keep the container interior within a predefined climate range.
