[origin: WO2019224778A1] A forming unit (1) for groups of filter cigarettes (2) in said filter at least one object (3) is embedded; the forming unit (1) has: a feeding hopper (4); a plurality of channels (5) inside which the filter cigarettes (2) are conveyed; a plurality of control units (6), each arranged in a corresponding channel (5) and is designed to carry out a control on the filter cigarettes (2) coming down along the channel (5); and a plurality of rejection elements (9), each of which is arranged in a corresponding channel (5) downstream of the control unit (6) and is designed to remove a filter cigarette (2) to be rejected from the channel (5); each control unit (6) has a microwave sensor (7) designed to check the presence and/or integrity of the object (3) embedded in the filter of each filter cigarette (2) coming down along the corresponding channel (5).
